'I have often watched 'Escape to the Country' and heard people enthusing about a 'view' and never understood. This morning when i got up and looked out the window now i get it....'

Ancient wall

Guests at Fordwater can enjoy navigating undulating floors and walls, stroll in 11 acres of countryside following the old Roman Road route of the Fosse Way as it crosses the River Kit. There is an abundance of wildlife, nesting barn owls, pheasants, wrens, deer, foxes, woodpeckers, kingfishers and brown trout to name a few.  Our exposed stone lobby wall reveals ancient graffiti.
