Any questions about our guest house? Let us provide you with the latest information!
Located just north of Axminster we are ideally located for those wishing to experience the area.
Attending a course at Axminster Tools and Machinery? we are close for unwinding after a busy day.
June and July are ideal months to sneak a peek at our nesting barn owl. Last year there were 8 owlets and this year judging by the noise there are a similar number! Mum is often seen napping on the rafters.
Our copse is a refuge for deer. The River Kit (sometimes more a pretentious stream than a river) flows through our far field with woodland beyond where ancient mill ponds were once a trout farm. Brown trout are often spotted in the water and kingfishers frequent the area. We have fishing rights season dependant.
Guests are welcome to stroll the fields, relax, maybe do some painting or bird watching. We do request that any disturbance to wildlife is minimal.
Located on te Roman Road the Fosse Way metal detector enthusiasts may strike lucky.
Visitors may also spot these pretty pink flowers at Fordwater and in surrounding Devon countryside in summer months. Unfortunately they have been identified by DEFRA as an invasive weed and should not be encouraged! One plant can propel 800 seeds into the air and the plants cause erosion to river banks. Feel free to 'behead' any found!
